@Mike Lung – there were plenty of dark people. Why should the photographer feel obliged to represent every single ethnicity or race known? (S)he probably just walked down the street and stopped random people for a photo – maybe these were taken in a town with a small (or even non-existent) population of black people? I think your comment is racist. Who cares what colour their skin is? It looks like several people in these photos are probably of african descent but there is so much cross-racial breeding these days that dark people are having lighter kids and light people are having darker kids… it depends where they are from, who the parents are, what the parents look like, etc etc. Who cares.

Same goes to Kimura… who cares if there are no overweight people… the point of the exercise was to photograph DIFFERENT looking people… these people are all different. You people are so over-sensitive… photographers and the like should not feel obliged to represent every single race, demographic, size, and shape, they can take photos of whoever they like.

The girl on #18 is the prettiest of all. I could not stop looking at her eyes. It was like she was looking into mines.

The photographer shoots in Singapore (where he’s from). Not a lot of foreign black people there I’m told.

He does have a few black people on his site though. I’m sure if he shot in Europe or North America you’d see even more diversity.

I am absolutely in love with this project. It is so wonderful to be able to just see such amazing pieces of photography of completely normal people who (For the most part) have spent little to no time preparing for this. The pictures were very interesting. This is how I FELT after veiwing the last photo.
When I was nearing the end, I realized that I had stopped looking at the photos in admiration, rather I had begun to rush through in an effort to see if ANYONE of these people deemed ‘beautiful’ were of the same race or ‘look’ as me.
I am not blasting the photographer, because no one has the right to tell another person that their perception of beauty is wrong.
I am just surprised at the way I felt after of viewing these photos, and wonder if anyone felt the same way.

Doe anyone else find it disturbing that all of the girls are 14-21 years old, but the guys are more mid 20′s?

Most of you miss the point of these photographs. It’s not primarily about the beauty of the subjects, but about the quality of the photograph itself, meaning the pose, the lighting, the expressions, colors, textures, shading and the candid look of the subjects.

As for the photos themselves, I will say that the artistic merit (they way they were shot, lighting etc) is fantastic. I will say that the photos are all beautiful, despite there being only a few attractive subjects
